COUNTA
Counts how many cells in a range contain anything at all — numbers, text, or dates — skipping only truly empty cells.
Compatibility: All Excel versions
Syntax
=COUNTA(value1, [value2], ...)
Example
=COUNTA(A1:A20)
When to Use It
Use COUNTA when you want to know how many rows have been filled in at all, regardless of whether the entry is a number or text.
