Advanced
Logical
LET
Assigns names to intermediate calculations inside a single formula, so a repeated sub-calculation is written once and referenced by name.
Compatibility: Microsoft 365, Excel 2021+
Syntax
=LET(name1, value1, [name2, value2, ...], calculation)
Example
=LET(total,SUM(A1:A10),average,total/COUNT(A1:A10),average)
When to Use It
Use LET in a long formula that would otherwise repeat the same sub-calculation multiple times — it makes formulas both faster (Excel calculates each named value once) and easier to read.
