Returns a specified number of characters from the end (right side) of a text string.
Compatibility: All Excel versions
Syntax
=RIGHT(text, [num_chars])
Example
=RIGHT(A1,4)
When to Use It
Use RIGHT to pull a fixed-length suffix out of a text value — e.g. the last 4 digits of an account number.
